24 apply for open Fairborn superintendent position

The Fairborn City School District saw 24 individuals interested in its open superintendent position after closing the application Friday, Jan. 29. The next step in the process is narrowing down the amount of applicants from 24 to a range between six and eight, which will take place Thursday, Feb. 4 during a FCS Board of Education executive session following the regular meeting. "We're going through the resumes and details," Board President Andrew Wilson said.

A man is behind bars Friday afternoon after he is charged in connection to the shooting of a 71-year-old man in Harrison Township on Wednesday. It happened in the 3600 block of North Dixie Drive in Harrison Township where the victim was forced to withdrawal money from a bank's ATM at gunpoint and later shot in the abdomen during the incident, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Snowfall is picking up in Vandalia.

The Miami Valley is in store for another round of light snow. While the snowfall won't accumulate all that much it will hit during the morning rush hour.
